About the 2 hungarian porcelain factories... Herendi porcelain production started in 1826 in Herend and has been known for its high quality and artisan tradition ever since. Herendi porcelain is distinguished by its hand-painting and rich patterning, often inspired by Hungarian folk art.

Zsolnay porcelain, founded in Pécs in 1853, is also famous for its special techniques, such as the eosin glaze, which gives the objects a wonderful metallic sheen. The Zsolnay factory has had a significant impact not only on porcelain, but also on ceramics and architecture, contributing to the decoration of many famous public buildings.
